FOO FIGHTERS REVIEW: Live at the Pantages Theatre

I thought I would take a break from eBay for a moment and share my experience last week (8/30) I took my 13 year old son to see the Foo Fighters Acoustic show at the Pantages theatre in Hollywood. If you haven’t seen them, they are quite possibly the best hard Rock N Roll band in the business today.

But last night was something different. Let me clarify for a moment when I say it was an “Acoustic” show. My son asked me about that term … and I had to admit it was only an acoustic show in the sense that they had electric guitars, bass, and a drummer playing back-up. Still the intent was clear. The lead instrument was David Grohl and his acoustic guitar.

I was impressed at the precision this band maintained throughout an amazing show which probably lasted about 90 minutes. Grohl appeared to be having such a good time with the receptive audience in the cozy confines of the Pantages that at times it felt more like a campfire sing-along than a major band in concert.

Nonetheless, I’ve seen well over 100 concerts in my life including some of the biggest and best bands in Rock N Roll and the Foo Fighters left me feeling like I had seen something very special last Wednesday night. If you ever have a chance to see them in concert, Acoustic or otherwise, I highly recommend you catch the show!
